Jay George
Hey! My name is Jay George. I am a Louisiana boy, born and bred. I came to know Jesus at the age of seven, during a Revival service at Fair Park Baptist Church in West Monroe, Louisiana. After graduating from West Monroe High School I began working in the Student Ministry. I served as a Sunday School teacher and a high school Outreach Director. Through my involvement in the youth ministry at Highland Baptist Church the Lord revealed to me His purpose for my life. I felt God calling me into the ministry while attending college at ULM (Formly NLU). After graduating from college I went to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX.
While in seminary, I met my wife, Cindy, while leading a College Retreat at Travis Avenue Baptist Church. As we have served the Lord through church ministry, God has blessed us with four children! Lauren, 20, is pursuing a degree in Human Development and Child Studies at Auburn University. Ally, 18, is on her way to LSU to major in Early Childhood Education. We can't go wrong if we cheer for the Tigers!! Drew, 14, attends Sterlington Junior High School. Our baby, Gracie, 11, goes to A.L. Smith Elementary. We enjoy time as a family, especially the now rare "table for six" opportunities!
I have been serving on church staff now for almost twenty five years. I was privlileged to serve as Minister to Youth and College at North Monroe from 1987 to 1999. I consider it a great honor to be back at North Monroe serving as Singles & Missions Pastor.
Our passion in the Singles & Missions Ministries at NMBC is to know God and make Him known to others. We have a very active Single LIfe Ministry here, so if you are looking for a friend and a place to get plugged in... Come join us! Our church is involved in mission work locally and globally around the world. We are called to "go into all the world and share the Good News!"
